Our former Team Executive Assistant, Alison Harris, has launched an exciting new interior design studio, Tiger Den Designs. The idea was born from the desire to give kids a sense of wonder, ownership, and joy in their space—creating rooms that truly reflect who they are and make them feel at home. We are thrilled to share this interview with Alison here on the blog, and hope you'll reach out to her for any of your interior design needs!
Tell us about the inspiration behind Tiger Den Designs.
The inspiration for Tiger Den Designs came a few years after I became a mother. I spent countless hours playing in my son’s bedroom, feeling uninspired by the space and overwhelmed by the constant toy clutter. Out of curiosity, I asked him what would make his room feel really fun—and I was struck by how animated and excited he became as he shared his ideas.
One weekend while he was away, I decided to completely transform his bedroom. The process filled me with a rush of happiness and creative energy I hadn’t felt in a long time. But the most meaningful moment came when I revealed the space to him. His face lit up as he wandered from corner to corner, touching everything and saying, “I can’t believe I get to live here.”
At that moment, I realized how often children left out when the spaces designed for them. Tiger Den Designs was born from the desire to give other kids that same sense of wonder, ownership, and joy—creating rooms that truly reflect who they are and make them feel at home.
Who is your target client, and what services do you provide?
I work primarily with families, designing everything from nurseries and playrooms to kids’ bedrooms and teen spaces. Although Tiger Den started with a focus on children’s rooms, it has evolved to encompass adult spaces too—bringing the same creativity, intention, and joy throughout the entire home.
Do you offer virtual options for clients outside of Denver?
Yes, I offer virtual consultations through my E-Design Package. This is a streamlined, cost-effective way to access professional design services from anywhere. The homeowner provides room measurements and photographs and completes the physical installation, while Tiger Den delivers a comprehensive design plan with detailed layout guidance and clear placement instructions.
What makes Tiger Den Designs stand out from other interior design companies?
Tiger Den Designs specializes in thoughtfully designed kid spaces while also offering full-home interior design services. As a small, boutique studio, we prioritize a highly personalized experience. Clients work closely with the designer from start to finish, without inflated teams or unnecessary layers. Our process is flexible and collaborative, allowing you to be as hands-on or hands-off as you choose while still feeling supported every step of the way.
What's next for Tiger Den Designs?
My hope is that Tiger Den Designs continues to experience steady, intentional growth. Since officially launching in May 2025, I’m incredibly proud of the spaces we’ve transformed so far—and even more excited about all the rooms still waiting for a little Tiger Den magic.
What's your favorite part about running the business, or favorite kind of project?
I truly love designing bedrooms for younger children, as these spaces invite the most creativity. They allow me to thoughtfully incorporate brighter colors and bolder patterns in a way that feels joyful and purposeful. There is something uniquely magical about childhood—the freedom to express themselves so openly—and I love creating spaces that nurture imagination and celebrate that special season of life.
Outside of booking a project with Tiger Den Designs, how can someone continue to support your business?
Referrals continue to be my strongest source of new clients, and I sincerely appreciate your support in recommending Tiger Den Designs to friends and family.
Anything else you'd like to share?
While Tiger Den Designs began as a children’s interior design studio, our expertise extends seamlessly throughout the entire home. We enjoy creating elevated, thoughtfully designed spaces for adults just as much as we love crafting imaginative environments for children. Additionally, we have extensive experience working with families whose children thrive in sensory-enriched spaces, and we are highly knowledgeable in designing rooms that thoughtfully support those specific needs.

A review of the homes sold in 2025 in the Sloan's Lake Neighborhood
Starting as clients and now great friends, Mike & Kevin's company, Peak Properties, seemed like the perfect highlight for this month's spotlight!
We took advantage of the higher inventory in the neighborhood and toured several homes in Sloan's Lake, priced from $295,000 to $2.95M.
When we bought our bungalow at the end of 2019, we weren’t exactly looking to move. Being a real estate agent, I always have my eye on the market.
Movevery is a Denver-based pediatric physical therapy practice dedicated to helping every little body thrive.
Long days of sunshine, long days on market... the summer lull is here.
As our Spring selling season comes to an end, we take a look at what's happening in the 80212 and 80211 markets.
This is a favorite breakfast, brunch and lunch spot in the area and we had the opportunity to speak with the co-owner Tim. Read the interview below!
An increase in inventory and days on market is giving buyers options right now.
Are you interested in a low maintenance community or a lock-and-leave residence? These are some of the most popular condo buildings in the Sloan's Lake area.
Spring 2024 has been an interesting time for the Denver real estate market.
Move out day was stressful but thrilling. I remember telling the girls that in one year’s time, we’d be back in the house.
By May, the entire house was framed and it started to take shape. Seeing the second story, even just with lumber, was really exciting.
By September, the contractors were laying hardwood floors (we picked an engineered European oak in a 7.5” width). Then came interior doors, trim, and stairs.
Whether you live in Denver or you're planning a move and need advice for how to buy a home here, this guide will be helpful.
It took a long time, cost a lot of money, and required a million decisions. I understand what a luxury this experience has been, I feel extremely lucky.
It’s my favorite time of year! I get to celebrate the holidays and put on my stats hat to review the real estate happenings for the Sloan’s Lake neighborhood.
One business that I’m excited to highlight here is a photography business, M Stevenson Photo, run by a friend and past client, Molly Stevenson.
This boutique specializes in women’s clothing and accessories, sourcing many of their items from brands made in America.
One of the best parts of my job is that I get to be that source of “all things home” for clients and friends.
This fall, the market has been impacted by rising interest rates and inflation. It made buyers hit pause, and I get it.
We recently had the opportunity to interview the Nurture leadership team to learn more about this amazing Wellcare Marketplace.
It’s always an honor to serve my clients, but it’s extra special to give back to our community on their behalf.
While we're still living in a low inventory market, we've started to see more homes taking longer to sell, which is creating more options for buyers.
We had the pleasure of interviewing past clients and local business owners. Nikki started her jewelry business here in Denver in 2015 and until 2023.
More like June gloom is here. This rain sure is making things green around here, but I’m itching for real summer.
It’s no 2022, but with fewer homes to sell than buyers looking, supply and demand is doing its thing.
Every year, I put my stats hat on and review the real estate happenings of the year for the Sloan’s Lake neighborhood.
As summer winds down, it’s clear that we’re experiencing a shifting market in Denver. This shift means multiple offer situations are occurring less.
If you live in the neighborhood and are open to moving, know that the odds of selling are better now than they’ve ever ever been.
Last year, I had some fun reviewing the year with a million different stats for the Sloan’s Lake neighborhood. One year later, I’ve decided it should be a tradition.
